Norwich initiates tax payments and summer events including concerts and farmers market

The Norwich City Council meeting on July 9, 2025, covered several important community updates and initiatives. Key discussions included tax payment deadlines, public works projects, senior programming, and upcoming community events.

The council reminded residents that the first installment of real estate, personal property, and motor vehicle taxes is due. Payments can be made online at norwichct.org, by mail, in person at City Hall, or at local M&T Bank branches. Tax payments postmarked after August 1, 2025, will incur late fees. Residents are encouraged to enroll in paperless billing for convenience.

In public works, the engineering department has completed the design and construction of a concrete base for the Promise Day sculpture at the Franklin Square roundabout. Additionally, the Goose Place drainage infrastructure improvement initiative is set to begin this week and will continue for several weeks.
