Groveport Madison Schools hosts successful job fair attracting 115 candidates for positions

The Groveport Madison School District is gearing up for a busy school year, highlighted by a successful job fair that attracted 115 candidates, significantly boosting staffing efforts. During the July 8 board meeting, officials celebrated the impressive turnout, which exceeded initial expectations. The job fair, organized by Kelly Hayden and supported by various departments, aimed to fill 34 classified staff positions, including educational aides and food service roles. The event's success is expected to ensure adequate staffing for the upcoming school year.

In addition to staffing updates, the district reported that all school buses passed the highway patrol inspection, ensuring they are ready for service. The mechanics will attend the Ohio School Bus Mechanics Association meeting next week, further enhancing their skills. The district is also investing in an automated fuel dispenser system, with quotes currently being gathered.

Preparations for the new school year include training sessions in first aid, CPR, and crisis prevention for bus drivers, scheduled for August. The community is invited to an ice cream social on August 5, expanding the event to include K-12 students and their families, with shuttles provided from the high school if needed.

The meeting concluded with the board approving the renewal of the Ohio school plan insurance, ensuring continued coverage for the district. As the school year approaches, the Groveport Madison School District is making significant strides in staffing, safety, and community engagement.
