San Marcos volunteers celebrate favorite parks at community event

"Sometimes I just see park goers, kids laying underneath and just daydreaming up at the clouds," she shared, emphasizing the park's role as a serene escape for families.

Catherine Gray, a member of the Friends of San Marcos Parks and Recreation, echoed this sentiment, praising Woodland Park for its active atmosphere, including sports events and horse trails. "It's a really fun park. Very active," she remarked, highlighting the diverse activities that take place there.

Lauren King, another board member of the Friends of San Marcos, shared her fond memories of Simmons Park, where her family has celebrated many milestones since moving to San Marcos in 2004. "It's been a very favorite park of ours to watch the sunset and just enjoy family activities," she said, illustrating the personal connections residents have with their local parks.
