Located at 1068 Chestnut Street, Echo Bridal has been a family-run establishment for 63 years, serving as a community gathering spot for various occasions. The restaurant, which features a separate lounge area, is seeking to add Keno to its amenities, following a change in state law that now allows family members to hold lottery licenses if they reside in the same household. This change has opened the door for the Virgilio family to expand their business offerings.

The proposal received backing from the Newton Chamber of Commerce and a petition signed by 65 local residents, highlighting the restaurant's positive impact on the community. Supporters at the meeting praised Echo Bridal for its family-friendly atmosphere and its role as a local icon, with many expressing confidence in the Virgilio family's ability to manage the Keno operation responsibly.

However, the proposal faced opposition from some committee members who raised concerns about the potential negative effects of gambling on the community.
