Tennessee College of Applied Technology approves three campus development projects

Tennessee's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities took center stage during the Tennessee Joint Committee's recent meeting on July 10, 2025. The committee approved four significant projects aimed at expanding the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) campuses, which are expected to provide vital vocational training to local communities.

The first project approved is the replacement of the Robertson County campus, a move that Dr. Kumar emphasized as crucial for the community. The final project approved was the replacement of the aviation campus at TCAT Memphis. This initiative aims to bolster aviation training, a critical sector for job creation and economic growth in the area.

The meeting also included procedural approvals, such as the adoption of minutes from the previous State Building Commission meeting and revisions to the bylaws to align with recent statutory changes. The committee concluded its session with a report on various items approved by the Office of State Architect, including change orders and capital improvements.
