Maintenance team resolves issues with RTUs at visitation center

The Wichita County Commissioner's Court meeting on May 30, 2025, addressed ongoing maintenance issues with the county's heating and cooling systems. During the meeting, officials discussed problems with two rooftop units (RTUs) that are currently malfunctioning.

One of the units, RTU 84, is experiencing issues with its fan motor. A temporary workaround is in place to ensure it continues to provide cooling until a new fan arrives. The second unit, located over the bookend, main hall, private room, and video visitation area, is completely out of service. Officials noted that the replacement motherboard for this unit is expected to arrive today, following a previous delay in shipping.

These maintenance challenges highlight the county's ongoing efforts to manage facility operations effectively while ensuring comfort and functionality for public spaces. Further updates on the repairs and their impact on county services are anticipated in future meetings.
