Residents voice concerns over drainage and traffic in Sandstone Farms development meeting

Residents of Sandstone Farms voiced significant concerns during the Williamson County Planning Commission meeting on July 10, 2025, particularly regarding water drainage, traffic, and the preservation of their rural community.

Mike Reynolds, a long-time resident of Arno Road, highlighted the pressing issue of water drainage, which he fears could lead to costly repairs on their private road. "We just spent a ton of money to maintain our private road, and we're afraid that the drainage is gonna put us back in that shape again," he stated. This concern reflects a broader anxiety among residents about the impact of new developments on existing infrastructure.

Traffic was another major topic of discussion. Reynolds pointed out that Owen Hill, a small rural road, is not equipped to handle an increase in vehicles. "To put that many more cars on it is really a concern," he said, emphasizing the dangers posed by increased traffic on already hazardous roads.

Additionally, residents are apprehensive about ongoing construction and its potential effects, including blasting activities that could disrupt their homes and environment. The fear of losing their rural atmosphere is palpable, as Reynolds noted that their neighborhood currently consists of eight homes on five-acre lots, and they wish to maintain this character amidst growing development pressures.
