Shelton School District updates equivalency credit policy to include mastery-based credit

The Shelton School Board convened on July 8, 2025, to discuss significant updates to the district's equivalency credit opportunities. Superintendent Jesse presented a revision aimed at enhancing the consistency and accessibility of credit options for students across the district.

A key highlight of the meeting was the introduction of mastery-based credit. This initiative allows high school students to earn credits through various state assessments, including the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), SAT, and GED.
