Board approves $36K repair project for deteriorating airport taxi lane

Hamilton County's HCAA Board Meeting on July 9, 2025, resulted in a significant decision to address deteriorating infrastructure at the local airport. The board approved a $36,780 project to repair a critical taxi lane that has been suffering from severe wear and tear, including potholes and spalling. This area, located between the south ramp and west hangars, has seen increased traffic from larger aircraft, necessitating urgent repairs to prevent further damage.

The repair will involve replacing approximately 185 linear feet of concrete along the taxi lane, which has been a hotspot for deterioration due to the combination of older and newer concrete sections. The project is expected to be completed by late July to early August, ensuring that the taxi lane remains safe and functional for airport operations.

In addition to the taxi lane repairs, the board discussed ongoing efforts to establish a customs office at the airport, which is anticipated to enhance the facility's capabilities and attract more traffic.
