Adams reported a remarkable 68% increase in bed day utilization at the center compared to the previous year, indicating that more individuals are receiving the necessary care without being diverted to emergency rooms or jails.

The discussion also touched on the medical clearance process at the diversion center, which has been supported by both the county and the city for several years. This process ensures that individuals receive appropriate medical assessments upon arrival, allowing for timely treatment or diversion to emergency services when necessary. The collaboration with Waco Family Medicine has proven effective, with a notable increase in the number of individuals diverted from emergency rooms in recent months.
