Trustees streamline candidate questioning process for fairness

During a recent Uvalde CISD workshop, board members discussed their approach to formulating questions for prospective candidates, emphasizing a collaborative and fair process. The meeting revealed that trustees submitted multiple questions individually, which were then condensed into a unified set to ensure consistency across all applicants.

One trustee noted, “We came up with 2 or 3 questions each, and then we condensed it so we could ask the same question to all the applicants.” This method aims to maintain fairness in the selection process, allowing each candidate to respond to the same inquiries.

The discussion highlighted the importance of transparency and organization in the candidate evaluation process. By utilizing a Google Doc to track questions and updates, the board demonstrated a commitment to thoroughness and accountability.
