Tri Creek Schools advances technology upgrades and construction trades partnership plans

Tri-Creek School Corporation is making significant strides in enhancing its technology and safety measures as the new school year approaches. During the Board of School Trustees meeting on July 10, 2025, key updates were shared regarding the preparation for the upcoming academic year, which officially begins on September 15.

One of the most notable developments is the upgrade of technology for students. The district is refreshing its devices, particularly for kindergarten and first-grade students, who will no longer take their devices home. New iPads are set to be distributed to students in grades 2, 5, 9, and for the first time, grade 11. This initiative aims to ensure that students have access to the latest technology, enhancing their learning experience.

In addition to technology upgrades, the district is prioritizing safety with the installation of new security cameras across various facilities. So far, cameras have been installed at Creeks, Lake Prairie, and the new athletic complex, with plans to extend coverage to Oak Hill and eventually the middle and high schools. These cameras will provide real-time monitoring capabilities, allowing safety teams to respond quickly to any potential issues.

The meeting also addressed the disposal of outdated technology equipment, a routine action item that helps the district maintain efficient operations. Items that have outlived their usefulness will be removed, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.

Furthermore, the board discussed a new partnership for the construction trades program, which involves building a house as part of the curriculum. Scribe Development and Management, LLC, will now support the program after the previous partner was unable to continue. This partnership will help fund the initiative and ensure that students receive hands-on experience in construction trades.

As the district prepares for the new school year, these updates reflect a commitment to improving educational resources and ensuring a safe environment for students.
