Aldine ISD is embracing the holiday spirit with a series of community-focused events and initiatives, as highlighted during the December 2024 Board Meeting. The district recently co-hosted the annual Nadine Kujawa Senior Citizen Gala, celebrating seniors and their contributions, alongside the inaugural Legacy Holiday Event, which honored past Aldine leaders for their lasting impact on the community.

In a significant development for local health services, the Hope Clinic has expanded its offerings to include affordable dental care, following a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony. This initiative aims to improve access to essential health services for families in the Aldine area.

The meeting also recognized outstanding contributions from district employees. Police Dispatcher Priscilla Holloway was named Employee of the Month for her exceptional service, particularly during the challenges posed by Hurricane Harvey. Her leadership and dedication were praised for ensuring the safety and efficiency of dispatch operations during critical times.

Looking ahead, the district is seeking input from the community regarding the academic calendar for the 2024-2025 school year. A survey will be distributed to parents, students, and staff, allowing them to choose between two proposed calendars. This survey will be open from December 18 to January 7, with the final decision announced in January.
