Aldine ISD honors staff with Impact Awards celebrating dedication and community contributions

The Aldine Independent School District (ISD) Board Meeting held on December 17, 2024, celebrated the achievements of dedicated staff members through its Impact Awards. The meeting commenced with a special acknowledgment of Superintendent Dr. Gaffney's birthday, which set a positive tone for the evening.

The first award recipient, Dre Thompson, was recognized for his exceptional leadership in the construction and opening of the new W.W. Thorne Stadium. His efforts not only showcased his vision but also highlighted his ability to inspire and mentor others, as evidenced by the eight award recipients who work under his guidance.

Sean Bingham, another award winner, was honored for his commitment to student success. His initiative to take over 30 students on a campus visit to Texas A&M's Department of Engineering Technology provided them with valuable insights into higher education and career opportunities.

Nicole Coleman, a second-grade ESL teacher at Austin Elementary, received recognition for her tireless dedication to her students, working throughout the year and during the summer to ensure their success. Her involvement as a band parent further exemplifies her commitment to the community.

John Baxton, who has dedicated 49 years to education, was also honored. His long tenure at Aldine ISD, particularly as a supervisor, has left a significant impact on the district. As he approaches retirement, his legacy of hard work and leadership is celebrated by colleagues and the community.

The meeting concluded with a sense of pride in the accomplishments of these individuals, reflecting the district's commitment to excellence and community engagement. The recognition of these staff members underscores the importance of dedication and leadership within Aldine ISD.
