Boydell Elementary and Freeport Intermediate students win first place in competition

The Brazosport Independent School District (BISD) Board Meeting held on July 14, 2025, celebrated the achievements of local students in a vibrant display of academic excellence. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of first-place winners from various schools in the district, showcasing the talents of young learners in the community.

From Boydell Elementary, the third and fourth-grade winners included Adrian Tapia, Victoria Moreno, Lucille Fernandez, Lyle Hodge, Gwendolyn Luce, and Penny Kimmick, all of whom were supported by their librarian, Suzanne Brooks. Their accomplishments reflect the dedication and hard work of both the students and their educators.

The fifth and sixth-grade champions hailed from Rasko Middle School, with Avery Martin, Lillian Daniels, Olivia Flores, Timmy Navidi, Hayden Hearn, Madison Williams, and Julie Navidi taking home the honors. Their librarian, BN, played a crucial role in guiding these students to success.

Freeport Intermediate also shone brightly, as the seventh and eighth-grade winners—Stacy Perez Calderon, Jocelyn Cambio, Avery Delosanto, and Adafia Ferguson—were recognized for their outstanding performance. This celebration of student achievement not only highlights individual talents but also underscores the supportive educational environment fostered within BISD.

Bridget Purple, representing Career and Technical Education (CTE), expressed her pride in honoring these students who utilized a national platform to showcase their skills. This recognition serves as an inspiration for other students in the district, emphasizing the importance of academic and extracurricular engagement.
