Brazosport Lady Exporter Nalia White celebrates success at UIL State Championships

The Brazosport ISD Board Meeting held on July 14, 2025, celebrated significant achievements in the district's athletics, particularly highlighting the accomplishments of the Brazosport Lady Exporter track program and the Exporter basketball team.

The meeting commenced with a recognition of Nalia White, a junior at Brazosport High School and a multi-sport athlete. Nalia's impressive track record includes winning five gold medals in the triple jump and two in the long jump during the 2025 UIL Class 4A State Championships. She also excelled at the Brazosport ISD 75th Annual Gulf Coast Relays, where she won the triple jump and placed third in the long jump. Nalia's achievements earned her the title of district champion in both events and a spot at the Region 4 championships, where she secured a silver medal in the triple jump. Her performance at the UIL State Championships saw her finish seventh overall, marking an improvement from her previous year. The board expressed excitement for her upcoming senior season as she aims for a third trip to the UIL State Championships in 2026.

Following Nalia's recognition, the board acknowledged the remarkable turnaround of the Exporter basketball program under the leadership of Head Coach Jordan Rose. The team improved significantly from a previous season record of 3 wins and 24 losses to an impressive 22 wins and 12 losses in the 2024-2025 season. The Exporters finished second in District 29 4A and claimed the bi-district championship by defeating Rockport Fulton. They continued their success by winning the area championship against Hildago, ultimately reaching the Region 4 semifinals. Coach Rose, who previously served as a varsity assistant coach, was praised for his leadership and ability to inspire the team.

The meeting concluded with a recognition of the athletes and coaches who contributed to these successes, emphasizing the district's commitment to fostering athletic talent and community pride.
