Brazos Wood Pool Replacement project progresses with construction updates and future plans

The Brazosport Independent School District (BISD) Board convened on July 14, 2025, to discuss several ongoing construction projects and their progress. The meeting began with an overview of the district's financials, reporting a total of $260,526,000 in purchase orders issued, with approximately 89.4% of these projects either completed or in progress.

The first project highlighted was the Brazos Wood Pool Replacement, which is currently under construction. The construction team is in the process of preparing the site, focusing on mechanical and electrical layouts before excavation begins.

Next, the board reviewed the Child Nutrition, Maintenance, and Transportation project. A detailed drawing was shared, indicating revised bus parking areas and the relocation of a temporary transportation trailer to the Freeport Satellite Park. The existing maintenance building is set for demolition, with plans for a smaller, more efficient replacement structure. The new layout will enhance operational efficiency for maintenance and child nutrition services.

The timeline for this project was outlined, indicating that design development has been completed, and the construction documents are currently under review. The board anticipates bidding to commence in April, with construction expected to start shortly thereafter and conclude by August 26.

Additionally, the board discussed the Rasko stacking lanes project, which is in the design phase. Traffic studies and site surveys are underway, with drilling scheduled to begin next week. The timeline for this project includes design development in January, completion of construction documents by March, and a planned start of construction in May, aiming for completion before the school year begins.
