Burleson Community Celebrates CTE Successes at School Board Meeting

Burleson ISD is making strides in student engagement and safety, as highlighted in the recent board meeting held on February 10, 2025. A key focus was the success of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, which are equipping students with industry certifications that enhance their employability. Board members praised the initiative, noting that many graduates are securing jobs within the community, contributing to local workforce development.

During the meeting, Miss Wolsey showcased two sophomore students who participated in a Chamber of Commerce event, where they shared their learning experiences and projects. This opportunity not only allowed students to demonstrate their skills but also connected them with potential employers, emphasizing the district's commitment to preparing students for future careers.

In addition to educational achievements, the board received positive news regarding campus safety. Steve Logan reported that two schools, Kerr and Burleson High School, successfully passed the Texas Education Agency's intruder detection audits, bringing the total to 11 out of 18 campuses audited with no findings. This accomplishment reflects the district's ongoing dedication to maintaining a safe learning environment.
