District's HR department celebrates apprenticeship success and teacher incentive allotment approval

Cybersecurity awareness and a successful apprenticeship program took center stage at the Brazosport ISD Board Meeting on February 17, 2025. The technology department highlighted its ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity training for district staff, which began at the start of the school year and continues through targeted phishing campaigns.

In a significant update, the human resources department reported impressive progress in its registered apprenticeship program. Ten apprentices completed the program in December, with seven transitioning into classroom positions. Additionally, nine new apprentices joined in January, all pursuing degrees or certifications in high-demand areas. The HR department is collaborating with several universities, including Western Governors University and Texas A&M University, to provide these apprentices with essential support and pathways to their educational goals.

The meeting also celebrated the approval of 58 newly designated teachers under the teacher incentive allotment, marking a positive step for the district's educational staff. These developments underscore Brazosport ISD's commitment to enhancing both cybersecurity measures and teacher support, paving the way for a stronger educational environment.
