Humboldt and Webster County trustees approve $7,500 for drainage work

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors held a joint meeting with Webster County on May 27, 2025, to discuss important drainage issues affecting both counties. The meeting, conducted via teleconference, aimed to approve necessary ditch spring work in Drainage District 3-2 W E B H, with an estimated cost of $7,500.

During the meeting, board members from both counties expressed their satisfaction with the current brush and weed control services, which are provided by the same contractor. The supervisors unanimously agreed to proceed with the proposed drainage work, with a motion made by Bob Rasmussen and seconded by John Cochran. The motion passed without opposition.

In addition to the drainage work, the board discussed amending the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related to drainage repairs. A suggestion was made to increase the threshold for certain repairs from $5,000 to $15,000. This change aims to streamline the process, as the boards meet on different days, making it more convenient for trustees to act in the best interest of landowners.
