Mayor recognizes EMS director Christine Churchill for her dedicated service in Mayville

The Common Council of Mayville, Wisconsin, convened on July 14, 2025, to address several key agenda items, including a resolution honoring the retirement of EMS Director Christine Churchill and updates on community events and leadership changes.

The meeting commenced with a resolution recognizing Christine Churchill for her exemplary service and dedication to the city upon her retirement. Mayor expressed gratitude for Churchill's unwavering commitment to emergency medical services, highlighting her leadership in enhancing the Mayville EMS. The resolution detailed her contributions, including the implementation of innovative training programs and the establishment of strong partnerships within the public safety network. Following the reading of the resolution, a motion was made and seconded to accept it, with council members expressing their appreciation for Churchill's impact on the community and the EMS department. In addition to the resolution, Mayor reported on the success of the recent Fourth of July celebration, thanking the Rock and Rock Moon Committee and sponsors for their contributions. The event, which cost between $20,000 and $25,000, was noted as a significant community gathering, made possible through volunteer efforts and sponsorships.

The council also announced the appointment of Jeff Engel as the new fire chief, with confidence expressed in his ability to lead the department effectively.
