Contractor Laser Friedman bids farewell to Solvang City Council after two years

Residents of Solvang will soon have the opportunity to participate in a community cleanup event, as the City Council announced a change in location for the upcoming initiative scheduled for August 16. The event will now take place in Parking Lot 5, across from City Hall, to ensure better accessibility for participants and visitors.

During the July 14 meeting, City Manager Jose Gonzalez highlighted the importance of community involvement in maintaining the city’s cleanliness and environment. The change in parking location aims to alleviate congestion in Parking Lot 4, which is often occupied throughout the day.

In addition to the cleanup event, the council discussed a Junior Entrepreneur Workshop taking place every Tuesday in July, culminating in a fair on July 30 at the Music In The Park location. This initiative, organized by the Parks and Recreation Department, aims to equip young residents with essential business skills.

The meeting also included announcements regarding an upcoming public outreach meeting by Caltrans on August 7, focusing on the design of the bridge over Alamo Pintado Creek. This meeting will provide residents with insights into environmental reports and project details.

A presentation on crime statistics by the new police chief is also scheduled for the next meeting, providing residents with valuable information on local safety issues.
