Wheat Ridge City Council proclaims July 14 as Mayor's Monarch Pledge Day

The Wheat Ridge City Council made significant strides in environmental conservation and community heritage during its meeting on July 14, 2025. The council officially proclaimed this date as "Mayor's Monarch Pledge Day," emphasizing the importance of protecting the declining monarch butterfly populations. Mayor Bud Starker highlighted the critical role that local ecosystems play in human health and urged residents to plant native milkweed and nectar plants to support these vital pollinators.
