City Clerk's Office releases boards and commissions program handbook for new appointees

Commerce City is set to enhance its governance with the introduction of a new handbook for boards and commissions, aimed at providing essential guidance to newly appointed members. During the City Council Regular Study Session on July 14, 2025, it was announced that the City Clerk's Office has completed this comprehensive document, which will serve as an overview of the program, the city, and the responsibilities of serving on various boards and commissions.

The handbook, developed in collaboration with staff liaisons, community relations, and the city attorney's office, is designed to ensure that new members are well-informed about the policies, regulations, and municipal codes that govern their roles. The City Clerk plans to distribute the handbook in August, allowing members to familiarize themselves with its contents before their appointments.
