Jamestown Airport reports 100% increase in fuel flow and rising traffic

Airport operations in Chautauqua County are soaring, with fuel flowage nearly doubling in May compared to the same month last year. This surge reflects a significant uptick in activity at the Jamestown airport, attributed to increased corporate traffic and tourism, particularly on weekends.

The latest figures reveal that Jamestown's fuel flowage is up almost 100%, while Dunkirk also reports an encouraging increase, albeit not as dramatic. This positive trend is bolstered by a busy airport environment, with many visitors arriving for leisure activities around the lake.

During the meeting, officials discussed the financial aspects of fuel sales, confirming that while Centric Aviation manages the fueling operations, the county receives a percentage of the profits. This arrangement is part of a negotiated lease, ensuring that the county benefits from the increased airport activity.

Additionally, the meeting highlighted a rise in departures and arrivals, indicating a healthy growth in air traffic. Notably, jet operations have also seen a boost, with 74 recorded in Jamestown and 3,800 for June, showcasing the airport's appeal to corporate clients and fractional charter services like NetJets and Flexjet.
