City Council praises fire and street departments for holiday weekend emergency response

Jasper City Council members expressed gratitude for the dedicated efforts of local departments and community members during their first meeting at the new City Hall on July 15, 2025. The meeting highlighted the swift response of the fire department, police department, and street department during a recent fire incident downtown, which occurred over a holiday weekend. Council members praised these teams for their effective containment of the fire and their commitment to ensuring public safety.

The council recognized the fire department for their exceptional work in managing the situation and preventing further damage. The police department was commended for their role in maintaining order and apprehending those responsible for the incident.
