Lehi ATC implements online ticketing for C3 trolley tours via peak.com

The recent EDC Board of Directors meeting in Rio Grande City highlighted significant advancements in the management of the local trolley tour service. The board is in the process of implementing an online booking platform through Peak.com, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of ticket sales and financial reporting.

The initiative involves setting up a Stripe account, which will allow the city to securely process online payments for trolley tickets. This move is expected to streamline operations and improve the overall experience for residents and visitors alike. The board discussed the necessity of this setup to fully activate and manage the trolley tours through the Peak.com platform.

The financial implications of using Peak.com were also addressed. The platform charges a $200 setup fee and a commission rate of 6% on ticket sales, along with credit card processing fees. For example, on a $10 ticket, the city would receive between $8.77 and $8.97 if it absorbs the fees. Alternatively, if the fees are passed on to customers, ticket prices could increase by approximately 94 cents to $1.23.

While the board is moving towards a cashless system to streamline payments, it was confirmed that cash payments would still be accepted for the time being, although discussions about phasing out cash transactions are ongoing.

This transition to an online booking system is expected to not only simplify the ticket purchasing process but also enhance the financial management of the trolley tours, ultimately benefiting the community by making local attractions more accessible and efficient.
