Superintendent welcomes new school leaders at Worcester County Board meeting

In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the Worcester County Board of Education convened on July 15, 2025, to discuss the upcoming school year and celebrate new leadership within the district. The meeting opened with heartfelt gratitude from the new superintendent, who expressed appreciation for the dedicated educators, families, and students that make up the school system.

As the superintendent acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor, he took a moment to introduce several new members of the administrative team stepping into key leadership roles. Among them was Dr. Jody Stigler, a former math teacher who will now lead Pocomoke Middle School. The superintendent shared a personal connection, noting that Dr. Stigler had taken over his old classroom, highlighting the continuity of educational excellence within the district.

Another notable introduction was Dr. Danielle Jackson, a former student of the superintendent, who now serves as the principal of Buckingham Elementary School. Her return to the school where she once learned was described as a "full circle moment," emphasizing the deep ties between educators and their students.

The meeting also welcomed Elizabeth Berry, who will join Dr. Stigler at Pocomoke Middle School, and Chris Adkins, a respected leader from Snow Hill High School. The superintendent noted that leadership can manifest in various forms, not just through formal titles, as he recognized Adkins' long-standing influence in the school community.

Although Ashley Miller was unable to attend due to a family commitment, her presence was felt as the superintendent reiterated the importance of family in Worcester County.

As the meeting progressed, the superintendent announced plans to recommend a new local accountability coordinator, further strengthening the leadership team. He emphasized that these new leaders bring not only experience and passion but also a shared vision for educational excellence, equity, and student-centered leadership.
