Tom Walker, CEO of DroneUp, emphasized the alarming rise in illegal drone incursions, reporting over 400 incidents at U.S. airports in 2025 alone—a 25% increase from the previous year. He noted that unauthorized drone flights have been documented over military bases, with one incident forcing the relocation of F-22 Raptors at Langley Air Force Base. Walker warned that these threats are not hypothetical; they are real and escalating, impacting various sectors including commercial aviation and emergency response operations.
