New Principals and Athletic Director Introduced at Local School Board Meeting

A wave of new leadership is sweeping through the Mosinee School District, as the school board meeting on July 15, 2025, showcased the introductions of four new administrators. Tom Fitzgerald, the new elementary principal, expressed his excitement about transitioning from a long-time teaching role to administration. “I’m looking forward to this new change,” he stated, signaling a fresh start for the elementary school.

Middle school principal Kate Wallerstein, who has 17 years of educational experience, shared her enthusiasm about returning to her hometown. “I’m really grateful for the opportunity,” she said, highlighting her commitment to getting to know the community and its policies. Meanwhile, Mia Schmield, the new high school principal, emphasized her connection to the district, noting her family ties and previous work with the district over the past eight years.

Adding to the excitement, Kelly Remedy introduced herself as the new athletic activities director and dean of students, focusing on hiring coaches and finalizing game schedules. The board expressed confidence in the new administrative team, with one member stating, “This is probably the best group of individuals I've ever worked with.”
