Sedona updates development plan ahead of September council work session

The Sedona Planning and Zoning Commission convened on July 15, 2025, to discuss ongoing updates to the city’s development plan. The meeting focused on the current draft of the plan, which is available for public review at plansedona.com.

City representatives reported that they are conducting public outreach meetings throughout July, engaging small groups of 4 to 6 individuals to gather diverse feedback on the project. These sessions aim to include a wide range of opinions, with approximately 20 to 30 meetings scheduled throughout the month.

The feedback collected will be presented to the Sedona City Council during a work session on September 10, 2025. This session is intended to provide direction rather than final decisions, as the City Council also acts as the property owner for the project. Following the council's guidance, the plan may undergo further revisions before returning to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a public hearing.

Commission members inquired about the nature of the small group meetings, confirming that they encompass various perspectives on the project.
