La Jolla ISD Unveils Innovative Summer School Programs for Student Engagement

In a vibrant gathering at the La Joya Independent School District (LJISD) Board Meeting, educators and administrators unveiled an ambitious summer academic programming initiative aimed at transforming the traditional summer school experience. The meeting, held on July 17, 2025, showcased a commitment to enhancing student engagement and academic rigor through innovative programming.

Superintendent Dr. Sorensen opened the discussion by reflecting on last year's promise to the community: a summer school that would not only meet educational standards but also captivate students' interests. Middle school students will focus on closing academic gaps while also enjoying enrichment camps in English language skills and STEM subjects.
