Viking Elementary Construction Update Highlights Kitchen and Classroom Progress

In a recent update regarding the ongoing construction at Viking Elementary, Principal Missus Swanson and Project Superintendent Paul Amborn from Nexus Solutions shared exciting developments that are transforming the school. As summer progresses, significant renovations are underway, aimed at enhancing the educational environment for students.

Amborn highlighted that the construction team has made substantial progress since last summer, when half of the building was renovated. This summer, they began work early while school was still in session, allowing for the demolition of areas designated for a new kitchen. Currently, the kitchen is approximately 90% complete, with contractors installing an epoxy flooring system and electricians working on wiring for the new restrooms upstairs.

The cafeteria area has also seen major changes, with a new open space created by removing a section of the second floor. This area is being outfitted with new steel stairs and cloud ceilings, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. Classrooms are nearing completion, with most already sheetrocked and ready for painting, while plumbing and electrical systems have been installed.

One of the most anticipated updates is the multipurpose room, where walls are set to be painted soon, and a stage is being constructed. This space will serve as a vital resource for music programs and community events, further enriching the school's offerings.

As the construction progresses, the Holmen community can look forward to a revitalized Viking Elementary, designed to better serve its students and families. Future updates will continue to inform the community about the transformation of this important educational facility.
