Arlington Heights Council PTA Prepares for 2024-25 School Year Transition

The Arlington Heights School District 25 Board of Education meeting on July 15, 2025, featured discussions on various topics, including updates from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and inquiries about property tax bills.

During the meeting, community member Melissa Kaer raised a question regarding the status of the property tax bill, noting that the second installment should have been received by now. However, the board did not provide any information on this matter, stating they were unable to address the question at that time.

The meeting then shifted focus to communications from district partners, highlighting a report from the newly elected Arlington Heights Council of PTA president, Erin Lekomski. She shared that the 2024-2025 school year concluded with successful events organized by the nine local PTAs, including field days and volunteer appreciation activities.

Lekomski noted that schools are currently transitioning to new board members and preparing for back-to-school events, such as meet and greets and outdoor movie nights. The council is also finalizing its budget for the upcoming school year and will host a kickoff meeting for local PTA units on August 5.

The board expressed gratitude for the PTA's efforts, particularly for coordinating student and staff school photos across the district, which will streamline the process for families.

Overall, the meeting underscored the PTA's active role in enhancing the educational experience for students and families in Arlington Heights, while also highlighting ongoing administrative matters that remain unresolved.
