Green Bay City Council Approves MOU for 500 Day Street Redevelopment Plans

The Green Bay Common Council convened on July 15, 2025, to address several key community initiatives and developments, including a memorandum of understanding aimed at facilitating the redevelopment of 500 Day Street. This agreement, which outlines a collaborative framework between the city and Scout Development GB LLC, is expected to pave the way for future zoning changes and development plans, with a formal application anticipated by November.

During the meeting, Mayor Eric Genrich expressed gratitude to city staff and volunteers for their efforts in organizing the recent Fire on the Fox event, which attracted approximately 50,000 attendees. He highlighted the busy summer schedule for the Parks Department, encouraging residents to participate in upcoming public input meetings and community events, including concerts and a kiddie carnival.

Alder Johnson announced two significant upcoming events: a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Seymour Park on July 17 to celebrate recent enhancements, and a demolition press conference on July 22 for the site that will eventually house new apartments and a Green Bay Fire Station. Additionally, Alder Dooling introduced a new concert series, "Grooves on the Green," set to launch on July 25 at Old Preble Park, showcasing local musicians.
