Grosse Ile Board Reviews Bids for TIF Plan and Streetscape Development

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) meeting held on June 26, 2025, focused on several key agenda items, including the establishment of an event subcommittee and the review of bids for the downtown development and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) plan update.

OHM is noted for its collaboration with CIB planners, who have a history with the township's master plan and the DDA's prior TIF plan. Wade Trim has also contributed to the DDA's economic enhancement strategy.

Ross emphasized the importance of interviewing the top bidders to assess their compatibility and expertise further. The board discussed the budget for the TIF plan, which is set at $70,000, with the current bids falling between $36,000 and $38,000. This leaves room for additional funding for future projects, such as zoning updates for Macomb Street or enhancements to Lions Park.

The meeting concluded with a consensus on the need for more community events and a plan to move forward with the TIF plan update process, including interviews with the top bidding firms. The DDA aims to enhance the downtown area while remaining within budgetary constraints.
