Lakewood Unveils New Projects at Harry Todd Park and Camp Murray

Lakewood City officials are gearing up for a series of exciting park improvements and community projects, as discussed during the Planning Commission Meeting on July 16, 2025. Among the highlights is the anticipated opening of enhanced facilities at Harry Todd Park, which will soon feature new pickleball courts, ADA-accessible stalls, and an improved parking lot. These upgrades aim to increase public access and recreational opportunities for residents.

The meeting also revealed plans for landscaping and signage updates across local parks, with hopes of completing these enhancements by early August. Currently, Active Park is the only location with signage, but new installations are expected to help visitors navigate the area more easily.

In addition to these immediate projects, the city is collaborating with Camp Murray on a master plan to improve boat launch services, while also celebrating successful grant applications for Edgewater Park improvements. The city is in the design phase for the renovation of the H Barn and the development of Oak Brook Park, both of which are set to move into construction soon.

Looking ahead, Lakewood officials are focused on engaging the community through surveys and meetings to shape a draft legacy plan by spring 2026. This plan is crucial for meeting the requirements of granting agencies and ensuring continued funding for future projects. The city is committed to enhancing public spaces and fostering community involvement in the planning process, with a goal to adopt the legacy plan by May.
