Commissioners Approve $4.15M Asphalt Paving Contract for 12 Miles on County Roadways

The Carroll County Board of Commissioners took significant steps to enhance local infrastructure during their recent meeting on July 17, 2025. A key decision was the approval of a contract for hot mix asphalt paving, which will address the condition of county roadways. The board awarded the contract to M. T. Laney Company Incorporated for $4,151,560.60, enabling the paving of approximately 12 miles across 23 county roads. In addition to the paving project, the commissioners also discussed a feasibility study for the renovation of Circuit Courtroom Number 6. The board approved a contract with Crabtree, Worbaugh and Associates for $73,600 to conduct this study. This initiative aims to assess the necessary upgrades for the courtroom, which is crucial for maintaining efficient judicial operations. Like the paving project, this expenditure is also covered by the approved budget for fiscal year 2026.
