Ivins City Council Approves New Arts Commission Members and Funding Updates

Ivins City Council made significant strides in community development during its meeting on July 17, 2025, with key decisions impacting local zoning, arts initiatives, and public safety.

The council approved a zone amendment from RA1 to R1 7.5 for a property located at 200 South and 400 East. This change aligns with the surrounding properties and the city’s general plan, facilitating future residential development in the area.

In a move to enhance water conservation, the council also endorsed revisions to the Ultra Water Efficiency Development Standard. This initiative aims to promote sustainable practices in new developments, reflecting the city’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

The council granted a Class 5 conditional use permit for the Black Desert Resort, contingent upon compliance with specific regulations regarding lighting, operational hours, and sound mitigation. This approval is expected to alleviate parking congestion and improve the overall experience for visitors.

Additionally, the council extended the preliminary plan for Moenkopee Trails by six months, allowing for continued development without changes to the existing plan.
