Waldenborough School Board Welcomes New Members and Discusses Goals

The RSU 40 School Board meeting held on July 3, 2025, began with procedural introductions and a review of the agenda. Board Chair Danny Jackson initiated the meeting by acknowledging the presence of new board members and inviting everyone to introduce themselves. This included members from various towns, such as Waldenborough, Union, and Friendship, as well as administrative staff.

Following the introductions, the board addressed several administrative matters. A motion was made regarding the inclusion of certain members on a committee, which was confirmed to be on the record after some clarification on the voting process. The motion passed with a vote of 11-0-1.

Chair Jackson then distributed materials related to the district's website, encouraging board members to review their information and make any necessary changes. He also reminded members to complete and submit freedom of access forms either at the current meeting or the next one.

In a discussion about board goals, Jackson and Superintendent Tom Ambrose presented a list of proposed objectives for the board to consider. This was intended to stimulate thought and discussion among members for future planning.

Additionally, Jackson shared positive news regarding board member Melvin, who had recently undergone surgery and was expected to be released from the hospital the following day.
