School Committee Plans Roof Upgrades and ADA Compliance for Montello and LMS

Lewiston Public Schools is taking significant steps to enhance its facilities, focusing on critical upgrades and compliance with safety standards. During a recent joint budget workshop with the City Council, school officials outlined plans for essential repairs and improvements across several schools, including Lewiston High School (LHS), Montello, and Longley.

One of the primary discussions centered on the urgent need for roof repairs at LHS and the potential for reallocating funds to address similar issues at the Lewiston Middle School (LMS) roof. Officials highlighted the importance of addressing water settling and leaks, particularly in areas like the LRTC shops and stairwells, which have been problematic due to moisture accumulation.
