Mountain Valley High School celebrates NHS induction and prepares for graduation events

In a recent meeting of the RSU 10 Board of Directors, students from Mountain Valley High School took center stage, sharing their thoughts on significant issues affecting their educational environment. Wyatt, a junior, passionately addressed the potential changes to Title IX, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and the rights of all students. He expressed concern that any alterations to the existing protections could inadvertently marginalize certain groups, leading to a culture of ignorance rather than education. "Removing a group is not okay, especially in an educational facility," Wyatt stated, highlighting the need for a safe and supportive school atmosphere.

The meeting also featured updates from student representatives, including Michael Chase, who reported on the successful induction of new members into the National Honor Society and the recent prom, which saw 149 attendees enjoying a beautiful evening at Black Mountain. Noah Smith, representing Buckfield Junior Senior High School, shared insights into the busy season for seniors, including preparations for graduation and the influx of scholarships. He also highlighted the success of the school's sports teams, particularly the softball team, which has shown impressive performance in recent games.
