LRTC Students Plan Atlanta Trip After Winning 49 Medals at State Competitions

The Lewiston Public Schools School Committee recently approved a significant trip for 13 students from the Lewiston Regional Technical Center (LRTC) to attend a national conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Scheduled for June 23 to June 28, this trip will allow students to compete against the top 10% of their peers from across the country in various technical and leadership competitions.

During the meeting, educators highlighted the impressive achievements of LRTC students, who collectively earned 49 medals, including 13 golds, in state-level competitions. The students showcased their skills in areas such as multimedia and IT, with one team even creating a game engine that outperformed competitors. The total cost for the trip is estimated at $30,000, which covers registration fees, accommodations, and travel expenses.
