RSU 22 Budget Committee Prepares for District Meeting on June 5

RSU 22 is moving forward with its budget planning for the upcoming fiscal year, having established a preliminary budget of $1 million during a recent workshop meeting held on May 14, 2025. The meeting, which included a detailed presentation of the budget process, aimed to engage community members and ensure transparency in the financial planning for the school district.

The budget process began at the school and department levels, with individual budgets being developed from November to December. Following this, meetings with department heads and school principals took place in January and February to finalize budget recommendations. The administration then presented these recommendations to the budget committee, which has met eight times since March to discuss the budget article by article.

During the workshop, attendees were encouraged to ask questions after each section of the presentation, fostering an interactive environment. The district plans to hold a district budget meeting on June 5, 2025, at Hammond Academy Gymnasium, where community members will have the opportunity to vote on the budget articles.

All budget committee meetings are open to the public and are recorded for transparency, with archives available on the district's website.
