School Board Announces Multiple Staff Resignations and New Nominations

The RSU 22 District Board meeting held on June 12, 2025, focused on several key personnel changes and nominations within the school district. Ashley Peters was nominated as the resource room IEP coordinator at Hamden Academy, bringing 11 years of experience and a proposed salary of $59,842.25. Jasmine Merchant was nominated for the role of social worker at Hamden Academy, with 8 years of experience and a salary of $57,734.50. Both nominations received unanimous support from the board.

Jamie Shamay was nominated as an occupational therapist, with 13 years of experience and a recommended salary of $65,802.02. Russell Bartlett was nominated for a 50% Dean of Students position at Leroy H. Smith School, maintaining his teaching role while taking on administrative responsibilities, with a proposed salary of $43,000 for the dean position.

Pamela Fox was nominated as the assistant special education director, bringing 12 years of experience and a proposed salary of $88,000. Lastly, Shannon Shaw was nominated for the principal position, with 23 years of experience in education and a recommended salary of $112,588. All nominations were met with unanimous approval from the board.
