South Haven Council Approves Tax Exemption for Future Electronics Distribution Center

The Southaven Mayor and Board of Aldermen convened on June 17, 2025, to discuss several key issues, including a significant resolution regarding a personal property tax exemption for a local electronics distribution center.

The primary focus of the meeting was a proposed five-year personal property tax exemption for an expansion of the electronics distribution center located at 4150 Old Airways Boulevard. The center, which has been operational since February 2004, currently employs 275 individuals in Southaven. The exemption, valued at $2.8 million, aims to support the center's growth and was recommended by the local economic council and approved by the county the previous day.

City Attorney Nick Manley presented the resolution, emphasizing its importance for the center's future expansion plans. Following the presentation, Alderman Flores moved to authorize the signing of the resolution, which was seconded by Alderman Wheeler. The motion passed unanimously, indicating strong support from the board.

In addition to the tax exemption discussion, the meeting included a roll call vote, confirming the board members' attendance and participation. However, no further significant topics were raised during the session.
