Middletown School Board Approves $8M Contracts for Butler and Warren County Support Services

Middletown City School District is set to enhance its special education services following the approval of multiple contracts during the Board of Education Business Meeting on July 21, 2025. The board approved two significant contracts with Butler County, totaling over $3.1 million, aimed at providing essential support services and preschool education for the upcoming school year.

The first contract, valued at $108,370, will fund itinerant services such as occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) for students in need. The second contract, amounting to $3,000,005.53, is designated for staffing 16 preschool classrooms, which will continue to operate in the Early Learning Center (ELC) building and other locations until they transition to the old Central Building next year.

In addition to the Butler County contracts, the board also discussed agreements with Hamilton County and Warren County. The Hamilton County contract will provide nursing and additional therapist support, while the Warren County contract, exceeding $5.5 million, will cover various services for students with special needs, including speech therapy and other specialized support.

These contracts reflect the district's commitment to ensuring that all students, particularly those with special needs, receive the necessary resources and support to thrive in their educational environments.
