Anna City Council Holds Hearing on 4 Unit Multifamily Development Proposal

The Anna City Council has taken a significant step towards urban development by approving a specific use permit for a multifamily development at 229 East Seventh Street. The decision, made during the council meeting on July 22, 2025, allows for the construction of a two-story building featuring four residential units, each equipped with a garage and additional guest parking.

Director of Development Services, Stephanie Scott Sims, presented the proposal, emphasizing that the project aligns with the city's comprehensive plan and downtown master plan, which designates the area for urban living. This zoning change from single-family residential to downtown neighborhood is intended to facilitate a transition from the downtown core to surrounding residential areas, promoting reinvestment and supporting local businesses.
