Xenia City Council Proposes 0.24% Income Tax Increase for Road Repairs

Xenia City Council has taken a significant step towards addressing the city's pressing street repair needs by proposing an increase in the income tax rate. During the meeting on July 24, 2025, council members discussed an ordinance to raise the income tax by 0.24%, bringing the total rate to 2.49% for a five-year period starting January 21, 2026. This increase aims to generate approximately $2 million annually, specifically earmarked for street repairs and maintenance.
