Gadsden ISD Honors Marcos Martinez and Officer Antonio Aleman During Board Meeting

A moment of silence marked the Gadsden Independent School District (GISD) Board meeting on July 26, 2025, as members honored the lives of two community members: Chaparral High School student Marcos Martinez and officer Antonio Aleman, a parent in the district. The heartfelt tribute underscored the deep impact of their loss on the community.

Following the tribute, the meeting welcomed newly appointed board member Priscilla Gueder, who will represent District 4. The oath of office was administered by Daniel Carranco, city clerk for Summit Park, as the board expressed gratitude for Gueder's commitment to serving students and families.

The meeting also featured introductions of campus teams, starting with early childhood director Natalie Urbina, who presented administrators from various sites.
